Personality:
The Beast is an incredible character who goes through an incredible amount of transition through any medium. In the beginning of the movie, the first line to describe him says that "although he had anything his heart desired, the prince was spoiled, selfish, and unkind." This is undoubtedly true. The Beast became The Beast because of his inability to see beyond outward appearances, and did not show kindness to an elderly woman who needed a place to stay in a snowstorm. (Guess how that turned out. The answer is "not well".) As a teenage prince, he was as cruel as children could be, keeping his the servants in a perpetual state of fear. His temper is an extremely notable trait-- when we first meet him, he is easily angered, and irrational because of it. This... tempers out, and he learns to utilise his anger in a way that it becomes a strength, rather than a glaring flaw. Of course, anger is destructive, but using rage to protect is more easily pardoned than using it to harm.

Before Belle arrived at his castle, and while the curse was in place, there was a time-- years, in fact-- where The Beast was progressively losing his humanity and fell into a deep depression. Without human interaction, he became more animalistic, opting to walk on all fours, hunting in the woods and eating the carcasses, and wearing considerably less clothes. The longer he lived without loving, and knowing another human, and the less time the enchanted rose left for him to find that someone, the more he cast aside humanity, abandoning his name (presumably-- no one ever says it.) and calling himself a monster at every turn. There is immense self-loathing in his heart. Whether or not this was present before the curse, it is not said, but if anything it is amplified because of the curse. He tears his (extremely handsome) royal portrait almost immediately after transforming, doubts if Belle could ever love a monster like him, berates himself for his mistakes and carries a fair amount of guilt for his actions. He is aware he got himself into his mess, and he knows the terms of how to get out of it, but the actual path is very unclear to him. Him being unsure of himself creates a desperation deep within him, and he is not hopeful for his future. He wants to be human, he will do anything to break the curse, and he watches the enchanted rose carefully-- the rose is his hourglass, and he only has so much time left. The worse the rose looks, the harsher he is on himself, the more he loses hope. (see: end of the first movie when Gaston + 50 Frenchmen break into his house and he says "Just let them come.")

Speaking of the rose, The Beast is incredibly possessive. This is not just with objects, but with people too. If it's his, it's only his. His castle. His rose. His servant. His Belle. And while that does put a strain on relationships because Belle honestly isn't anyone's, this possessiveness serves as a strength in times of need. He defends what is his until he cannot any longer. Gaston tried to take away Belle? No. Maleficent tried to take away Belle? Nope. Xaldin tried to take away Belle AND the rose? (He was a daring guy.) Not happening. He defends his friends and will protect them at all costs. In the first game, The Beast uses the power of his heart and sheer willpower to rip through space and space walls and space everything and darkness to find Belle and bring her home. No one has ever done that before. Just him. Space/darkness is dangerous and corrupts people, but not The Beast. Homeboy TORE THROUGH IT TO SAVE HIS GIRL... He transported himself to another world after his homeworld was swallowed by darkness without gummi ship and just straight-up determination. In the second game, The Beast mentions "his anger, his sorrow, his pain" being turned into rage, and this is true. But his true power comes from the heart, a determination only rivalled by Sora's.

While a lot of names have been mentioned, The Beast has absolutely terrible people skills-- they're what landed him in his predicament. Thank god Belle caught him when she did or he would've been even worse. It's easy to forget that at his core, he's a twenty-year-old man who is very insecure and was never taught how to do much of anything except be extremely demanding. There is no asking. There is only commanding. He's not one to talk much, and if he does, he breaks up his sentences with pauses or repeating words. This changes the more human he is, and he gets better with language as time goes by-- probably thanks to Belle and her bookworm ways. He is relatively straightforward, and is rarely sarcastic. Self-depreciatory, yes. Snarky? No. He doesn't really have a chance to be, and if there's anyone he'd be sarcastic with, it's Sora. With Belle, he's playful, Mrs. Potts gets him to actually listen, Lumiere gives him confidence, and Cogsworth keeps everything efficient. The people he cares for bring out little hidden traits within him. Still. Terrible people skills. He's secretive, and gruff, keeping an incredibly important part of his life hidden from his friends. The west wing was forbidden for a reason-- all the skeletons in his closet were right there. Not everything about him is out there for people to know, and he keeps it that way, but who can blame him? He's been alone for "ten" years. There's only so much a man who is terrified of being abandoned is willing to say.

A lot of his negative traits were far more prominent before Belle came to the castle, but she has truly tamed the beast, and made him a better man. He is able to make friends, and show kindness, and feel love. It's all because of her. The Beast without Belle is incomplete. They balance each other out and make each other better people, even if for her, it's not as evident. (She didn't call Gaston a monster and get aggressive with him until after spending time with The Beast...) Together they can do anything, and even if they're apart, they can do anything, because they give each other strength and power. They are in love, even if they do not say it until the last possible moment. It takes time, and effort, but they come to a beautiful conclusion.

The Beast is not stagnant. He evolves from the very first moment we see him. His constants are power and determination, but he transforms so much. Not just physically from monster to king, but from an angry, sorrowful boy to a man with valour and kindness exposed.
Abilities:
As The Beast, an ability he has is incredible strength. He's able to fight off like 20??? wolves and survive, he lifted an organ keyboard over his head and hurled it away, he can break a wardrobe, no problem. He is agile, climbing up rooftops and jumping off them like it's no big deal. The Beast is also a skilled hunter, able to kill enough animals to feed him for a decade (or so they say). The Beast can roar, and it's rather fierce. He is a bear/lion/boar/wolf, after all. He is a capable fighter in any medium, faring well in the movies (until he gets STABBED.) and serving as a party member in the games against the first game's penultimate world's bosses, and fighting against an elite member of the antagonist Organization XIII.

In the Kingdom Hearts series, he has distinct abilities, some of which combine with Sora's.

Also, he probably speaks French, being a French prince and all.
Other:
While not an ability, there are two items that mean an incredible amount to him, as they are attached to the curse he is under. The first is the enchanted rose, which serves as a timekeeper, and marks how long he has until his curse becomes permanent. The second is a magic mirror, which is "his only window to the outside world". He asks to see something, and he can see it. Like Google, but more sparkly. While these will not come with him to Holly Heights at first, at some point he would want both of them back.

SAMPLES;
First Person:
[this damned thing is unlike any he's ever seen-- magic, he thinks. another curse in a... well, it's not wood, it's not metal. it's foreign and horrifying, but most of all, frustrating.. nevertheless, a curse in a strange box. just like the rest of this place.

a rumble forms in his throat as he fiddles with it, his face visible the whole time, bright blue eyes staring intently at the camera. at some point he realises it's doing what it needs to be doing, and he pouts, and then snarls. it's quite the combo. he keeps his cool, surprisingly enough, but the irritation is evident.]

I had trouble with the papers... the words were... too much. I read where we are, and how to use... most things, but. Why. Why am I here.

[he's worried that his heart has done it again, taken him away from his homeworld... that belle is hurt and has been taken here. it doesn't seem like that's the case this time, and he doesn't know which is worse. growling at the thought, he hunches his shoulders, then looks back to the camera.]

Where's Belle. She has to be here, but the papers didn't... they didn't tell me where she is. I... I can't be without her. [there's a bit of panic in his eyes, but he grows angrier, yet retains composure... the rest of his body say what his voice does not-- he's holding onto the table like his fingers are claws, his body is prepared for a fight, his brows are furrowed, his lip curled back and if he had a tail, it would be swishing. the only thing that lies for him is his voice.]

I'm not leaving until I find her. Tell me where Belle is.

Third Person:
That test drive was something, wasn't it? both threads are action threads, one showing a more casual conversation, and one showing a fight sans amped up abilities.

OTHER;
His servants are never going to get apped in because a: side characters and b: probably not enough characterisation to make them appable. Would there be any way for him to have them with him? Or since they were originally human, would they be unable to ever join him for that reason?
Housing Request?: nope!
Did you read the rules and FAQ?: yes i did 8')
